The works screened in the “Dissect” program are an attempt, a position, and a reflection of a space, landscape, and infrastructure in different areas, each with a unique physical and human characteristic and interconnectedness with other places. A place is a location, a particular region, a physical environment, and a building or locality with a special significance.
The term can be used for locations at almost any geographic scale, depending on the context—putting the places in their own context.(1)
This program is an attempt to watch, intake, and absorb “place” since we are visitors with no sense of direction or destination.
