Don’t Leave Anything Behind links a Polar expedition from 1898 to a present one, examining the conflicts and musings these other worldly landscapes inspire. The 1898 Belgica expedition got stuck in the ice and was forced to overwinter in Antarctica. Using the diary of Belgica’s doctor, and interviews and images of a current expedition to the Arctic, the lines between past and present start to blur as the travelers lose themselves in similar ponderings as the original expeditioners did 120 years ago. What are we willing to sacrifice for our never ceasing desire to leave something behind?
