This work is part of a Travel Literature, which attempts to locate definitions related to the specificity of a given place – in this case Beirut within the narrative context of the fable. The work seeks to redefine the notion of violence and explore alternative ways of thinking towards a ‘philosophy of violence’. Violence may never disappear, and as such its practices may require a rereading on both the material and the moral level, one that deals with violence as an action and acknowledges it as one type of discourse among others. Travel Literature attempts such a rereading by exploring the specific history of a certain place, and the extent to which the artist’s point of view is able to respond to it and accept the notion of struggle in its surface aspect.
