In 2006, Mark Brogan set up a market research call centre in Serbia. Coming from the backgrounds of fine art, curating and prior to this, economics, he set about testing the boundaries between contemporary art and the sphere of neo-liberal business practices, and documenting this testing process with video. In The Typical Reject, we are shown how Serbian applicants deal with the unorthodox job interview techniques inserted by the artist in the recruitment process in the call centre.
