Skyscrapers split into other skyscrapers, stretching themselves along the seashore like shining cliffs of concrete and glass, competing with each other over which one could touch more stars.
A perfumed woman dressed in gold and in gems leaves the house at sunset. Her voice, and the sweet song of the muezzin, are mixed with the sound of hammers at work.
She has skin of sand, blood of oil, and she, as the desert taught her, makes mirage her beauty.
