Exploding watermelons in China and square watermelons being grown in Japan led me to consider what we are doing with our food today. Food and eating habits are deeply ingrained in the spiritual understanding of the human body and mind. For instance, in Hindu traditions, food is referred to as ‘Brahaman’, or God. This led me to consider, on a spiritual level, what we are doing with food today. What happens if we mutilate the basis for our existence? In this piece, I have used stop motion animation and images from Google images to enunciate the problem of ‘manufacturing’ the very essence of human survival.
