Visual Music, Sound Images
Video making as a creative medium relies heavily on interdisciplinary approaches. Simultaneously recording sound and image because of the electromagnetic basis of video technology created a new realm for audiovisual possibilities. This freeform has become easily operable, accessible, and inexpensive, and it cannot be separated from cultural and social surroundings and applications. Musicians experiment with visualizing their music and video artists experiment with sounding their images. Using this creative form, the space between the two disciplines of sound and image becomes fluid and mind-blowing.
The selection of music videos in this program loosely focuses on the most recent works from Egypt and the region. These works have been invited to participate in this program for their outstanding experimentation with the medium.
Selection & Program: Mena El Shazly & Mohamed Allam
